Did you know there are two separate protocols operating in all the recent smartphones' Bluetooth? One of them is Bluetooth Low Energy, introduced in 2010. It has quietly created multiple new applications with its ubiquitous presence in smart-phones. In this talk we will go through the history, characteristics, applications and finally for those interested the technical details of this protocol.
